- Start SQL Server Surface Area Configuration > Remote connections
- Select “using both TCP/IP and named pipes”
- Start “SQL Server Configuration Manager”
- Find out the dynamic port
- Now connect to the SQL server from a remote server:
- HOSTNAMESERVER\MSSQL$SQLEXP_VIM,49382
